Flags are flying at the Lower School, thanks to the artwork of students. Under the leadership of Katie Clotfelter, Lower School art teacher, first through fifth grade students have been painting American flags to display around the School as a part of an after school program. “There are so many kids that absolutely love art and wanted the opportunity to have some extra art time,” Clotfelter said.

Over 30 students are participating in this session, which lasts for six weeks. A second session will be taught in the spring. “In addition to the flag paintings, the group studied African art and created large acrylic on canvas paintings in this style,” Clotfelter said. “They have done some amazing work.”
