Seventh-graders Anna Krueger and Michael Schecter will represent Darlington Middle School in the Zone level oratorical competition on April 7. Zone Level winners could compete at District and possibly State which awards $1,500 to the winner.

Kruger and Schecter were selected to compete after earning first place in the Breakfast Optimist Club Oratorical Competition on Feb. 21, when they gave four to five minute speeches on how they would change the world. “They are judged on poise, content of speech, delivery and presentation, and overall effectiveness,” said Nancy Ivester, seventh grade English instructor.
