Students Assist with Annual Fund

An active group of students has given generous amounts of time each month to assist the development office make calls for the annual fund. The goal of the annual fund this year is $1,260,000 and S.O.A.R. (Students Organized to Assist fundRaising) has helped to increase the number of donors in the alumni, grandparent, and parent of alumni categories.
Volunteering with S.O.A.R. is not only advantageous to the school but also to the students, said Sally Lemmon, associate director of annual support: “The opportunity that S.O.A.R. gives students is not just to help the Darlington annual fund, but also to help them develop important listening and conversational skills needed in today’s busy world.”
S.O.A.R. participants for 1998-99 are freshmen Jason Chapman, Lynne Jarvis, and Jordano Williams; sophomores Mary Binns, Elizabeth Logsdon, Rebecca Rhodes, Jessica Tarpley, Michelle Ward, and Carrie Ann Willis; juniors Marshall Davis and Skye Wellesly; and seniors Ellett Bates, Barrett Carden, Beezy Lentile, Jason Raville, Richie Ryan, Jonathan Sparks, and David Swift.
