Student-athletes recognized at Winter Sports Assembly

Outstanding athletes in varsity basketball, swimming and diving, and wrestling were recognized at the Winter Sports Assembly on Monday, February 25, in Morris Chapel.

In basketball:

Junior Hector Picon and seniors Bailey Brock and Remy Jennings of Rome received Scholar-Athlete Awards.

Sophomore Hackett Shiflett of Rome was named Most Improved.

Junior Jeremiah McClure of Rome received the Rebounder Award.

Freshman Will Sparks of Rome received the Hustler’s Award.

Sophomore Rachel Simon of Rome was named Most Valuable Defensive Player.

Junior Sarah Manning of Rome received the I Love To Practice Award.

Junior Maggie Beth Atha and seniors Bailey Brock, Terar Stewart and Sidney Stout, all of Rome, received Captain's Awards.

In swimming and diving:

Senior Lauren Chin of Montego Bay, Jamaica, and junior Winston Herring of Rome received Scholar-Athlete Awards.

Senior Lauren Chin of Montego Bay, Jamaica, and Dillon Weeks of Rome received Captain's Awards.

Seniors Kristi Hicks of Versailles, Ky., and Dillon Weeks of Rome were named MVPs.

Junior Lindsey Vaughn of Acworth, Ga., and sophomore Sandro Lobzhanidze of Rome were named Most Improved.

In wrestling:

Junior Rostam Zafari of Cartersville, Ga., received the Scholar-Athlete Award.

Junior Jordan Beck of Rome received the Most Pins Award.

Freshman Landon Lawrence of Temple, Ga., was named Most Improved.

Junior Jule Peek of Cedartown, Ga., received the Coaches' Award.
