Student-athletes recognized at Winter Sports Assembly

Outstanding athletes in varsity basketball, cheerleading, diving, swimming and wrestling were recognized at the Winter Sports Assembly on Monday, March 14 in Morris Chapel.

In basketball: 

Senior Hunter Davis and junior Lindsay Evans, both of Rome, received Scholar-Athlete Awards. Davis also received the Coaches' Award, while Evans received a Captain's Award.

Junior Cedric Spivey of Rome received the Hustler Award.

Junior Cam Collins of Calhoun, Ga., was named MVP.

Sophomore Bailey Brock of Rome was named most Most Improved.

Senior Rachael Turrentine of Rome received a Captain's Award.

Freshman Maggie Beth Atha of Rome received "The Stopper" Award for being the Most Valuable Defensive Player. 

In cheerleading:

Junior Adriana Dinatti of Rome received the Scholar-Athlete Award and a Captain's Award.

Senior Brisha Askew of Rome and junior Darlene Chikezie of Jonesboro, Ga., also received Captain's Awards.

In swimming and diving:

Junior Anna Grace Rutledge of Rome received the Scholar-Athlete Award.

Senior Jack Lynch and junior Melissa Picon, both of Rome, received Captain's Awards.

In wrestling:

Senior Lucas Jennings of Rome received the Scholar-Athlete Award.

Junior Gavin Lawrence of Temple, Ga., received the Break-Out Athlete Award.

Junior Spencer Jones of Adairsville received the State Champion Award.
 
Freshman Jule Peek of Cedartown, Ga., received the Coaches' Award.
