Stinchcomb earns NIAAA certification

Bob Stinchcomb, Darlington's new athletic director, has successfully completed the process of becoming a certified master athletic administrator.
"I am proud of Bob," said Scott Lindgren, chairman of the NIAAA Certification Committee. "He is an outstanding athletic administrator who is committed to Darlington students and their education."
The certification process, administered by the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association, identifies those administrators nationally who demonstrate exemplary knowledge, contributions and ongoing professional development in the field of interscholastic athletic administration. The voluntary certification process included a thorough evaluation of the candidate's educational background, experience, NIAA Leadership Courses and professional contributions.
With 27 years of experience in the high school and college arenas, Stinchcomb holds a B.S. in Physical Education and Health from Bethel College, a M.S. in Athletic Administration from Florida State, and is currently seeking his doctorate in sports management through the United States Sports Academy.
Most recently, he served as athletic director and head football coach at Eagle’s Landing High School in McDonough, Ga. During his tenure there, he was twice named Region Athletic Director of the Year, and received top honors in 2003 as State of Georgia AAAAA Athletic Director of the Year. He has also served as athletic director and head football coach at Tift County High School and Appling County High School, both in Georgia, and held positions as special teams coordinator at the University of South Carolina, recruiting coordinator at Auburn University, and interim head football coach at Samford University.
