State University Applications Due Mid-September

Applications for state universities in the South are due to the college guidance office by Thursday, Sept. 21.These applications do not require recommendations and include Auburn, Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Georgia Southern, West Georgia, University of Tennessee, University of Mississippi, and others.
Applications for the University of Georgia and Georgia Tech are also due at this time. Both require essays.
Meeting this deadline will help ensure a smoother flow of paperwork to the colleges, help seniors spread out their application paperwork, and, for many seniors, gain acceptances earlier in the year. “If your grades and scores through your junior year will qualify you for admission, why would you not want to find out that good news as soon as possible?” Moss noted. “If your numbers are not high enough, those colleges will re-evaluate your application when they receive your fall SAT’s and your first trimester grades. It’s a no-lose situation for seniors.”
