In celebration of the United States presidential election, the Lower School, led by the Darlington Singers, is presenting a patriotic musical revue on Election Day 2000. Woven with thought-provoking dialogue, some of the country’s favorite tunes will be performed by the classes. “My Country,” “This Land is Your Land,” “Dixie,” and “Yankee Doodle” are among the selections that will be sung as flags wave, pre-kindergarten students don three-cornered hats, dancers and gymnasts perform routines, and military personnel from the local United States Marine Armory present the nation’s colors. During this extravaganza, students will sing songs about freedom and liberty, chosen because they serve as a reminder of the opportunities this nation offers.
