Some faculty, staff to take on new roles

The following faculty and staff members will take on new and/or additional job roles in 2010-11:

Karen Bennett will serve as registrar and executive assistant to the director of Upper School. She has been at Darlington since July 2001, serving previously as executive assistant to the director of Upper School studies/registrar. She holds a B.A. from Valdosta State College.

Will Camp will direct the Lower School Band in addition to his teaching duties at the Upper School. He has been at Darlington since August 2005, and holds a B.M. from the University of West Georgia and an M.M. from Georgia State.

Ann Glass will now serve as school archivist in addition to her role as Lower School librarian. She has been at Darlington since January 1998, and holds a B.S. from the University of Tennessee and an M.S. from the University of Alabama. She is also certified in archiving after spending two weeks this summer at the Modern Archives Institute in Washington D.C.

Kent Harrison ('01) has been named head baseball coach, and will continue to serve as an assistant director of admission. He has been at Darlington since July 2006, and holds a B.S. from the State University of West Georgia.

Chris Holloway will teach Middle School instrumental music full time. He has been at Darlington since January 2007, and holds a B.M. from the University of West Georgia.

James Hutchins will serve as director of Middle School. He has been at Darlington since August 2002, serving most recently as associate director of Middle School. He holds a B.S. from Shorter College, an M.S. from Jacksonville State University, and an Ed.D. and Ed.S. from the University of Alabama.

Jamie Jackson has been named chairwoman of the I.T. department, and will continue to teach Algebra and Intro to Computers. She has been at Darlington since August 2005, and holds a B.S. from Centenary College and an M.Ed. from Clemson University.

Leanne Mann has been named operations director for Coosa International Tennis Academy and director of summer programs. She has been at Darlington since August 2004, serving previously as an Upper School English teacher. She holds a B.A. from Campbell University.

Kila McCann will serve as assistant director of admission. She has been at Darlington since July 2005, serving previously as head of house and director of international student programs. She holds a B.A. from St. Lawrence College (Ontario, Canada) and a B.S. from Shorter College.

Tim McCann will be head of Neville House, and will continue to serve as a dean of students. He has been at Darlington since July 2006, serving previously as head of Moser House. He replaces his wife, Kila, who will work in the Admission Office full time. He is a graduate of St. Lawrence College (Ontario, Canada) and has completed additional studies at Athabasca University (Alberta, Canada).

Rebekah Montgomery will teach kindergarten. She has been at Darlington since July 2006, serving previously as a teaching associate in pre-kindergarten. She holds a B.S. from Stetson University.

Melissa Robinson will teach Middle School Spanish full time. She has been at Darlington since July 2006, serving previously as a member of the counseling staff. She holds a B.A. from Berry College and an M.Ed. from the University of Georgia.

Bob Stinchcomb has been named chairman of the physical education department in addition to his duties as athletic director. He has been at Darlington since July 2008, and holds a B.S. from Bethel College and an M.S. from Florida State University.

Jim Van Es will teach math full time and serve as Middle School athletic director. He has been at Darlington since August 1968, serving most recently as director of Middle School. He holds a B.S. from the University of Chattanooga and an M.Ed. from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.

Erin Westmaas will teach AP Music Theory in addition to directing Darlington's Concert Choir and Ladies’ and Men’s Chorales. She has been at Darlington since August 2008, and holds a M.Mus. from Yale University.

Chad Woods has been named chairman of the Upper School math department, and will continue to coach varsity softball. He has been at Darlington since July 2006, and holds a B.S. from the State University of West Georgia.
