Singing groups perform “Traditions of Christmas” concert

Holiday favorites sounded through Morris Chapel as the Middle School Chorus, Ladies’ Chorale, Men’s Chorale and Concert Choir presented a “Traditions of Christmas” concert Sunday, Dec. 12, at 4 p.m.
“A collection of traditional seasonal favorites was assembled for this very special performance,” said Dan Bishop, chairman of the fine arts department.
Selections included “Do You Hear What I Hear?,” “Happy Holidays,” “Dashing Through the Snow,” “Carol of the Bells,” “Silent Night,” “The Carol of the Drum,” “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch,” “Deck the Halls,” “The Twelve Days of Christmas,” “Merry Christmas Darling,” “Still, Still, Still” and “We Wish You a Merry Christmas,” just to name a few.
“All of the upper school choirs are very young vocally this year with a lot of freshman and sophomores as members, but I have been very impressed with their willingness to work diligently to sustain the high performance standards set each year by the juniors and seniors,” said Bishop. “I am constantly amazed at the level of talent and professionalism that the choral groups exhibit each year, especially considering the size of the student body from which they are drawn. In a time when other choral programs across our state are being downsized we are indeed very fortunate to have such a successful program, and one that is overwhelmingly supported by the administration of the School."
