Singers to participate in regional festival

The sixth grade exploratory class is taking on new challenges in the music department under the direction of Kim Tunnell, Middle School chorus and music exploration teacher. Students are doing a listening activity involving recognition of music from composers from various music periods. They are also trying to play a piece of bell music from each of those periods.
The Middle School is also looking forward to having ten students participate in the Northwest Georgia Choral Festival. Natalie Brock, Elizabeth Buice, Ben Cantrell, T. J. Cruz, Turner Edwards, Laura Lynch, Kelly Omara, Brennen Riddle, Christina Rutledge, and Patrick Wilson have been selected to perform on October 29 at 7 p.m. in the Winthrop-King Centre of Shorter College. Parents of the performers will receive two complimentary tickets. Additional tickets will be available at the door for $7 for adults and $5 for students.
