Seventh-grader's artwork featured at Floyd Medical Center

The artwork of seventh-grader MacKenzie Smallwood is currently being featured at Floyd Medical Center in celebration of National Youth Art Month. The exhibit will be open through March 30.
"Our vision for the Arts in Medicine Program is to enhance the healing environment by introducing the arts to our patients, their families and our staff," said Susan Lavigne, expressive arts coordinator. "We recognize that art and music experiences can help in improving the physical, emotional and spiritual well being of the individuals and the communities we serve."
Smallwood's artwork is featured in the Wright Gallery, along with pieces created by other local students representing the area schools.
