Lucy Babcock ‘71T and her second graders dove into writing, reading, and learning how to accomplish projects while bringing the experience to life through many hands-on activities. Students read biographies then wrote reports, first drafts through a final copy. Once the final copy was completed, the writers made covers that looked like paper dolls for their papers. On reading day, students dressed like a character from the book report. To culminate the experience, they accepted an invitation by McHenry Elementary Principal David Tucker to visit and read to first and second grade students.
