Scouts Improve Community, Earn Distinction as Eagle Scouts

Three Middle School students were among five Darlington students from Rome’s Troop 113 who have recently earned the Eagle Scout award. Spencer Dismuke, Barton Lowrey, and Fletcher Ogletree successfully completed the award requirements and were recognized at a ceremony on Oct. 10. Dismuke worked on four venues at Winshape Ropes Course located on the Berry College campus – designing and landscaping the course. At Rome’s historic Chieftains Museum, Lowery built a split-rail fence around the archeological dig site. Ogletree installed mulch and rails at a new playground at Grizzard Park.
