Schedule set for Orientation

Since those dreaded long registration lines no longer exist, thanks to online registration, the academic year can begin on a much more enjoyable note. According to David Rhodes, headmaster, the goal of the schedule is to get students and their families out of lines and into weekend activities as quickly as possible.
The Saturday Aug. 16 events are required for all resident and new day students, including all ninth graders, their parents, and faculty (returning students are welcome). When students (resident and day) arrive on campus, they are expected to check in at the House of which they belong. Heads of House will direct students to the library if the registration process is not complete. At that point, the schedule below will be followed:
11 a.m.
Opening Meeting, Morris Chapel
11:45 a.m. –12:30 p.m.
Lunch, Dodd Dining Room
12:30-1:30 p.m.
House Meetings, individual Houses
1:30-3:45 p.m.
Mini-School, classrooms
3:45-5:30 p.m.
Free time
5:30-7 p.m.
Reception, Hone-on-the-Hill
5:30-7 p.m.
House meetings, individual Houses
7 p.m.
Formal dinner, Huffman Center
8 p.m.
