Save your cereal box tops and help the Lower School in the process. That’s right! Once again, Lower School Spanish teacher Barbara Barfield is heading the annual cereal box top fundraiser through the General Mills Box Tops for Education program. “Last year, we raised more than $570. This fall Kroger is going to help us raise even more,” Barfield said. Proceeds help enhance the Lower School Spanish curriculum.
If customers who use the Kroger Plus cards purchase 12 or more items with Box Tops labels Aug. 31-Sept. 13 (not necessarily purchased at the same time), they will earn an extra 100 Box Tops (worth $10). “I am asking all Darlington families to participate even if you don’t have children at the Lower School,” Barfield said. Monies raised in past years have been used to buy books in Spanish, Hispanic artifacts, fifth-grade graduation gifts, and funded the year-end fiestas.
