SAT scores highest since 1970

Darlington’s Class of 2001 had the highest SAT scores since 1970, rising over 60 points above last year’s scores. The middle 50 percent of Darlington’s 119 seniors’ scores ranged from 1090 to 1280 with the 10 non-native speakers of English included, and 1100 – 1290 for the 109 native speakers in the class.
Darlington does not publish the average or median scores, as some schools do, since the School follows the code of ethics of the National Association for College Admission Counseling. That code of ethics requires schools and colleges “to refrain from the public reporting of mean and median admission test scores” and instead to report by middle 50 percent or other appropriate score bands.
