SAT prep course offered in January

Darlington School will offer an SAT course taught by Upper School teachers John Cox (English) and Fran Buice (math) during the first two weekends of January 2007.
The course will include an SAT practice test, a graded essay, and lectures on how to improve techniques for taking the test. Taking the course does not guarantee an improvement in scores; however, the student will gain insight into the types of questions asked, how the test is scored, when not to guess, the directions for each section and the difficulty of concentrating for over four hours.
Cost of the course is $200, and payment in full will serve as a reservation. The textbook, 11 Practice Tests for the SAT and PSAT by The Princeton Review, will be provided and is included in the fee. Class times are Saturday, Jan. 6, 8 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.; Sunday, Jan. 7, 1 to 3 p.m.; Saturday, Jan. 13, 8 a.m. to noon; and Sunday, Jan. 14, 1 to 3 p.m. Priority will be given to the juniors.
