Rome's International Festival scheduled April 8

This Saturday, Darlington students will get involved in Rome's annual International Festival, sponsored by the City of Rome and Rome-Floyd International Association. The event will take place at from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Bridgepoint Plaza in downtown Rome.
"Our Steel Drum Band will play at 2:30 p.m., the French Club has a booth with food and posters, and 15-20 international students will be selling drinks, cooking food, and working in the children's area teaching calligraphy, origami, and hand painting," said Betsy Awsumb, director of international students. "Also, some of our upper school art students will have their work on display."
Awsumb added that she hopes Lower, Middle and Upper School teachers, students and their families will stop by to celebrate Rome's diversity.
