Rome Symphony to present concert at Huffman Center

The Rome Symphony will present its second concert of it Pop Series on Aug. 5 at 7 p.m. at Darlington's A.J. Huffman '67 Memorial Athletic Center. Dr. John Ratledge will guest conduct the full orchestra.
Pack your picnic basket, gather your friends and come enjoy an evening of Cool Summer Pops. Joining the orchestra will be guest vocalist Elizabeth Claxton. Delight to the sounds of "Porgy and Bess," selections from "Die Fledermaus," "Sound of Music," "Madam Butterfly" and other popular favorites.
Doors open at 6 p.m. If you do not wish to carry in your own table and chairs, the RSO will set up a table with chairs for you. For reservation of table with chairs, call the Rome Symphony Orchestra business office (706-291-7967), or e-mail them, before noon on Aug. 2.
There are a limited number of tables available. The cost of rental is $25 for tables with 2-5 chairs, and $30 for tables with 6-10 chairs. Please specify the number of chairs when making your reservation. All rentals include white tablecloth and votive candles, and don’t forget to let them know if you are celebrating a special occasion such as an anniversary or birthday.
Concert tickets may be purchased in advance at the following Rome locations: Rome Area Council for the Arts, The Music Room, Duffy’s Deli, Merry Bee Gallery and East Rome Kroger. Tickets may also be purchased in advance at the RSO office at 21 John Maddox Drive, Suite C. Advanced ticket prices are $15 for Adults, $10 for seniors and $3 for college and other students.
