Rome-Floyd Sports Hall of Fame recognizes Darlington students

The Rome-Floyd Sports Hall of Fame awarded Frank Stegall Jr. the Outstanding Student Athlete Award during the 2002 Induction Program and Volunteer Awards Ceremony on Feb. 19. The Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation Authority sponsors the event.
The award recognizes a male and female college bound high school senior in Rome and Floyd County for outstanding athletic, academic, and community achievements by giving each a $1,000 college-tuition scholarships.
Sarah Rhodes received $150 toward college book fees. Athletic Director Jerry Sharp nominated Stegall and Rhodes.
