Rhoades receives President’s Volunteer Service Award

Senior Laura Rhoades has been awarded The President's Volunteer Service Award for logging 253 hours of community service over the past year through the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership organization.
In honor of her achievement, she received the award as well as congratulatory letters from the president of the United States and honorary co-chairman of the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation, a certificate of recognition, a recommendation letter from HOBY’s executive director and founder addressed to college admissions officers, and an opportunity to apply for one of two $1,000 scholarships from Who’s Who Among American High School Students.
Rhoades is a servant leadership liaison at Darlington and a member of National Honor Society, French Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, Science Club, FCA, Honor Council and the Student Support Team. She is also a graduate of the Greater Rome Chamber of Commerce’s High School Leadership Rome program. She is the daughter of Jane and Gary Rhoades of Aragon, Ga.
