Many of you have requested that Darlington consider hosting an SAT/ACT prep course on campus and we have listened! This year, we have partnered with two different companies to offer courses to our students, one here on campus and the other exclusively online.

The first course, offered by Applerouth Tutoring Services, will take place on Saturday mornings from 9 a.m. to noon at Thatcher Hall beginning Jan. 7, 2012. The first session will include a mock test to help students identify areas of focus. A series of seven classes will be conducted to help students prepare for the May administration of the SAT. The cost of this course is $524. Registration is on a first-come basis and will be open to other students in our community. To register and ensure your student’s place in the course, visit www.appletutors.com/signup and enter the event code SAT734. For more information, see the flyer at the link above.

The second course, offered by Edsortium Inc., is a virtual classroom course. It will take place on Sunday evenings from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. beginning Jan. 8 and ending Feb. 5, 2012. This course focuses on preparation for both the SAT and ACT. Students may log into the class from any computer interact with the instructor. The cost of this course is $635 (including books), while students wishing for SAT prep only will play $415 (including books). To register, visit www.edsortium.com

If you have any further questions regarding these courses, you may contact the companies directly or call me at 706-802-4392.
