Register now for Alumni Weekend

Darlington School will host its annual Alumni Weekend, themed “Rediscover Darlington,” Friday through Sunday, Oct. 13 through 15. The weekend will celebrate class years ending in 1 and 6.
“We at Darlington are very much looking forward to having our alumni on campus in October,” said Whitney Keene (’01), alumni relations officer. “This year’s event is sure to be a hit with a variety of activities for all to enjoy.”
Friday’s activities will feature a Distinguished Alumnus Luncheon and Darlington Celebration honoring distinguished alumni William M. Huffman (’40) and Isaac M. Sulzbacher (’30). The evening will kick off with a pre-game picnic on the Old Gym Lawn, followed by the homecoming football game at Chris Hunter Stadium.
Saturday will begin bright and early with a Golden Tigers Breakfast, honoring alumni who have been out of school for 50 years or more. Following breakfast, visitors may participate in a golf tournament and luncheon at Stonebridge Golf Club (reservations required), a fun run, or a Town Hall Meeting in Morris Chapel with Headmaster Tom Whitworth and School Directors Mark Carleton, Jim Van Es and Steve Bartholomew.
After an Alumni Luncheon on the Morris Chapel Lawn, there will be campus tours; individual class photos; an alumni tennis match; and an alumni basketball game, hosted by Coach Van Es; and a Heritage Society Reception. The evening will kick off with a cocktail party at Coosa Country Club, to be followed by individual class parties at various locations.
“The class agents have been working very hard to ensure that their classmates have an opportunity to reconnect with each other in a more intimate setting,” said Vicki Vincent, class agent officer. “For months, they have been selecting sites, planning menus, sending e-mails, making phone calls and writing letters to classmates to encourage them to return to Rome for this exciting weekend.”
The weekend’s activities will conclude Sunday with a Service of Remembrance in Morris Chapel and lunch at noon.
