Pre-Kindergarteners Explore Businesses

Pre-kindergarten students and faculty ventured off campus to visit Shell’s Tales Bookstore and Café and then to explore the United States Post Office. The visit to the bookstore was to encourage the children to read anytime. While there, students were entertained with a story reading by Harriett Wilcox, a close friend of the Darlington community and parent of three Darlington alumni. Wilcox’s father-in-law was Darlington’s first president, C. R. Wilcox, who served the School from 1921-1954. At the post office, they mailed letters that they wrote to their families and learned how those letters get to the homes.
