Parents must apply for HOPE and financial aid

Parents of seniors are reminded that in order for students to receive the HOPE scholarship or any need-based financial aid at any college, parents must fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). In addition, many colleges require that parents submit a second form as well, the PROFILE of the college scholarship service.
The FAFSA must be filed as soon as possible after January 1 but usually no later than March 1. The PROFILE may be filed immediately. The FAFSA should be available from Sam Moss’ office, college guidance, in early January, and the PROFILE is available now. The FAFSA may also be submitted online.
Parents who have financial aid questions are urged to contact the financial aid offices at the colleges to which their seniors are applying.
