To receive the HOPE scholarship or any need-based financial aid at any college, parents must fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Many colleges require that parents submit a second form, the PROFILE of the College Scholarship Service. The FAFSA must be filed as soon as possible after January 1 but no later than March 1. The PROFILE may be filed immediately.
The FAFSA should be available from Moss’ office in early January, and the PROFILE is available now. Parents wanting more information are urged to contact the financial aid offices at the colleges to which their children are applying.
