Parents Association Cooks Up Benefit

Food, fun, and volunteers. Blend these ingredients together to create a product that benefits the Darlington community. Parent volunteers have been collecting, testing, tasting, and typing recipes for Through These Gates – A Taste of Darlington, a cookbook being published by the Parents Association. “We are so appreciative of all their work, time, and energies,” said David Rhodes, headmaster. “These funds provide money for equipment, faculty grants, and House projects and improvements.”
As a result of the leadership of Ellen Keene, cookbook committee co-chair and Parents Association president, and Ray Harris, cookbook committee co-chair, and the efforts of Karen Bennett, Parents Association treasurer, and countless other individuals, the cookbook will be unveiled at a special event, Lakeside, Friday, April 20. Other activities scheduled during the event include a cookbook recipe tasting, a reverse raffle with a $5,000 prize, and a live auction.
