Orientation to Help New Families Feel at Home

“The Lower School is entering the next century with a bang, with full classrooms, refreshed teachers, an exciting language program, and a new principal,” Lower School Admission Director Lea Duncan said.
To welcome and introduce new families to the Lower School, an orientation has been planned for the second week in August. New families’ first formal introduction to the Lower School, this event will give anxious parents the opportunity to become comfortable with their child’s new home away from home, Duncan said. Detailed information about this evening, including date, time, and place, will be mailed soon to families new to Darlington.
On Tuesday, Aug. 17, the annual Ice Cream Social will be held for incoming new students and their families. This is an evening for children and parents to meet the faculty and see others who will be new students also.
“It’s a great opportunity to enjoy a self-made sundae and get cool at school,” Duncan said.
