Oohs and owls come from the Arrowhead Environmental Center

Kim Kilgore from Arrowhead Environmental Center came to visit Pre-kindergarten during their study of the letter O. The class had already studied and learned that owls are nocturnal, have talons, can turn their heads 280 degrees. Kilgore’s visit let the students see and learn firsthand about the owls that live in our area. “She brings different animals throughout the year pertaining to our curriculum,” Beth Smith, Pre-k teacher said.

Pre-k students also visited the Pumpkin Patch Farm in October in conjunction with their study of the letter P. The trip began with a hayride through a pumpkin patch, then students saw how pumpkins grow. Next, they went through a hay maze and tunnel, petted the animals in the petting zoo, made a scarecrow and picked out a pumpkin.
