Olszewski named September Student of the Month

Outstanding academic achievement has won senior Aleix Olszewski the honor of being named Noon Optimist Student of the Month for September. She is an "A" student who has taken five Honors and four AP classes during her high school career. She is a member of Spanish Honor Society, Amnesty International and a four-year member of the Wind Ensemble, for which she received the John Philip Sousa Award as a junior. Outside of Darlington, she competes in equestrian riding, does yoga, and volunteers at local animal hospitals and with the Rome Public Library's ESL program. The daughter of Vickey and David Olszewski, Alexis was honored at a luncheon on Sept. 21.
