A sprawling porch, ice cream, and warm smiles, all on a hot summer night –this is the quintessence South –this is the annual ice cream social that marks the opening of the school year at the Lower School. The social is an opportunity for new students and their families to become familiar with each other, the School, and the faculty.

Opening day enrollment was at 253; 64 of those students are new; and 45 of them attended the social. Students come to the Lower School from the Rome area, Taylorsville, Plainville, Calhoun, Cartersville, Kennesaw, Acworth, Powder Springs, and Gaylesville, Ala.
