New Orleans school thanks Darlington

Darlington received an Award for Excellence in Achievement this month from Isidore Newman School in New Orleans, La., as an expression of gratitude.
A framed photo of Isidore Newman's student body is accompanied by a dedication to Darlington that reads, "For giving our students lessons, love and shelter following Hurricane Katrina, Fall 2005."
"All of us at Isidore Newman School count you and your community as very dear friends indeed," said Thomas Price, head of school. "When our students and families were in their moment of greatest distress ... you gave [them] a wonderful education and a temporary home. For our families, you provided a community. ... The Newman community will never be able to adequately express its profound gratitude for the kindness and support your community provided."
During the months following Katrina, Darlington enrolled six students whose schools and homes had been devastated by the hurricane.
