National Honor Society Inducts Members

Darlington's National Honor Society chapter received new members during a ceremony held in the chapel Wednesday, Feb. 10.
The Darlington chapter of the National Honor Society was established in 1982 to recognize students who exemplify high standards of scholarship, leadership, character, and service while at Darlington. The National Honor Society encourages service within the school and the community. During the year, the National Honor Society is involved in two or three projects that help members improve their community and develop a consciousness for the needs of society.
Sophomores, juniors, and seniors who have been at Darlington for the equivalent of one semester or more are eligible for induction. Students are eligible only if their overall high school average is at least an 87.5. Candidates also must have attained one or more major leadership roles either through election or appointment. A candidate must have been involved in two or more service activities per year.
The following students were inducted: seniors Rosie Chamu, Mandy Dye, Junko Kurata, Blake Segars, and Jennie Wright; juniors Alexis Adams, Allen Babcock, Kelli Gavant, Brooke Morrison, and Beth Mooney; sophomores Jordan Bray, Melissa Gamble, Acquania Gibbs, Diana Hamlin, Lindsay Harbin, Kelli Hutchinson, Holly Jarrell, Cat Lawler, Morgan McCrary, Joanna Mundy, Rebecca Rhodes, Page Thomas, and Spencer Warren.
