National Honor Society Holds Annual Induction Ceremony

Darlington’s National Honor Society chapter received new members during a ceremony held in the Chapel, Wednesday, Feb. 9.
Each year, sophomores, juniors, and seniors who have been at Darlington for the equivalent of one semester or more are eligible for induction. Students are eligible only if their overall high school average is at least 87.5. Candidates also must have attained at least one major leadership role either through election or appointment, and must have been involved in two or more service activities per year.
The following students were inducted: Nazia Bandukwala, Tia Brown, Querida Campbell, Helen Davis, Lauren Dismuke, Rebecca Edwards, Nasreen Fakhri, Katie Galloway, Alicia Gamble, Katie Gerhard, Tameka Hawkins, Jeff Hortman, Chris Jackson, Phillip King, Ches Martin, Molly Mathews, Sarah Rhodes, Raya Richardson, Clara Smith, Kellen Spivey, Frank Stegall, and Michelle Ward.
The Darlington chapter of the National Honor Society was established in 1982 to recognize students who exemplify high standards of scholarship, leadership, character, and service while at Darlington.
The National Honor Society encourages service within the school and the community. During the year, Darlington’s National Honor Society chapter is involved in two or three projects that help members improve their community and develop a consciousness for the needs of society.
