Mundy Earns STAR Distinction

Joanna Mundy has been selected as Darlington’s STAR student for 2000-2001. Mundy whose academic accomplishments include Furman Scholar, the Wellesley College Book Award, and membership into Mu Alpha Theta, Spanish Honor Society, and National Honor Society. Mundy has participated in a variety of extracurricular activities including photography, yearbook photography editor, Young Democrats, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Math Team, Georgia Junior Academy of Science, and Darlington Christmas. She is also a member of the National Creative Society.

The Student Teacher Achievement Recognition (STAR) program was established by the Professional Association of Georgia Educators, the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, and the Georgia Department of Education in order to reward student excellence in scholastics and to allow students to acknowledge the teacher most inspiring to them.

Mundy chose Raymond Murray, Upper School English faculty, as her STAR teacher.
