MOMS continue spiritual support

For more than 10 years a group of Darlington mothers have met as part of MOMS in Touch International (MITI) to pray for the School, students, faculty, staff, and administrators. MITI is an interdenominational ministry of moms who believe prayer makes a difference. There are approximately 33,000 groups worldwide.
According to group member and Darlington parent and alumna Joan Brock ’74, the group of local parents prays that Darlington will be guided by high moral values, that the faculty will have wisdom and strength, and that the students will be safe and that their needs are met. “While prayer is not a guarantee that all will be perfect and safe, there is great peace and assurance afforded by asking God to care for our children and entrusting them into His loving care,” Brock said.
Darlington parents meet Wednesdays at 8:15 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church and Thursdays at 11:30 a.m. in Morris Chapel on the Upper School campus. During that time, they also pray for the requests left in confidential prayer request boxes that are located at the Lower, Middle, and Upper schools for students and faculty. “All prayer requests and prayers are private and never discussed or commented on outside the frame of MOMS,” Brock said.
