The fine arts department will present a Middle School Instrumental and Choral Concert on Monday, Dec. 3, at 7 p.m. in the Huffman Athletic Center's Van Es Arena. Admission is free.

"This is always such a fun event for our Middle School students to showcase the pieces they have been working so hard on," said Kim Tunnell, director of fine arts. "We hope that students, parents, grandparents, friends and faculty will come out to support them!"

First up will be the 5th and 6th Grade Chorus, performing "Hodie Christus Natus Est" by Michael Bedford, "In December" by Jay Althouse and "Deck the Nutcracker Hall" by Greg Gilpin. Next, the 5th and 6th Grade String Ensemble will perform traditional holiday favorites "Joy to the World" and "Deck the Halls." Then, the 5th and 6th Grade Band will play "Jingle Bells" by Victor Lopez, "Holly Jolly Christmas" by Johnny Marks and "Ancient Hunters" by Sean O'Loughlin.

The Jazz Band will play "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" (arranged by their teacher, Chris Holloway); "Baby It's Cold Outside" by Frank Loesser/Rick Stitzel; and "The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire)," by Bob Wells/Holloway.

The 7th and 8th Grade Chorus will sing "Noel Nouvelet" by Sonja Poorman, "God Rest You Merry Gentlemen" by Joe Cox and "Dashing Through the Snow: A Jingle Bell Spectacular!" by Pierpont/Leavitt. The 7th and 8th Grade String Ensemble will follow, performing "Rondeau" by Mouret as well as "Minuet" and "Bourree," both from Water Music Suite by Handel. Afterwards, the 7th and 8th Grade Band will play "Caribbean Christmas" by Michael Story, "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch" by Albert Hague/Michael Story and "Sleigh Ride" by Leroy Anderson/Michael Story.
