Middle School honors outstanding students

The following awards were presented at the Middle School honors program in Morris Chapel, Monday, May 21:
James Ross McCain Award (outstanding leadership ability in all areas of school life): Barton Lowrey, Kristi Buice
M. Hugh Merson Memorial Award (pursuit of excellence in all areas of school life): William Richardson, Allison Harbin
Robert Walther Jr. Award (eighth-grader exhibiting respect for fellow students and unselfish service to the school): Fletcher Ogletree, Kim King
Mary Alice Babcock Memorial Award (eight-grader who places the welfare of others above his/her own): Kyndall McKemie
George Dorsey Memorial Award (quest for knowledge and love of living things): Matthew Payne
DAR Good Citizenship Medal (eight-grader exhibiting honor, service, leadership, courage, and patriotism): Anne Montgomery
Raymond Nora Memorial Award (football player who best exemplifies leadership, spirit, and cooperation): Michael Webster
Parent Association Student awards: eighth grade: Bert Collier, Mary Becca Watson; seventh grade: Greg Phillips, Carrington Astin; sixth grade: Kevyn Bowling, Marlowe Brant
John W. Maddox Award (best all-around athletes): Megan Betts, Matt Stuenkel
E.L. Wright Scholastic Honor Award (best student in Algebra I): Lacey Meadows
