Middle School holds spelling bee

The Middle School recently hosted its annual spelling bee. Darlington congratulates the following outstanding spellers from each grade level:
6th grade: Jesse Baker, Katie Brewster, Emily Dodd, Lindsay Evans, Kennan Freyberg, Meredith Gaffney, Hiram Johnson, Cole Miller, Hashil Patel
7th grade: Brisha Askew, Kristopher Bryant, Hunter Davis, Allen Edge, Christopher Griffin, Ali Harton, Margaret Hjort, Daniel Hudson, Anna Shea, Anna Swafford, Jesse Tudor, Sam Watters
8th grade: Aabhas Amar, Hunter Brooks, Maddie Cannon, Angie Davidson, Jess Milner, Connor McWhorter, Alex Sentell, Knox Strickland
Each of the grade-level winners then moved on to the school-wide round two. The seven finalists from this round included Johnson, Gaffney, Harton, Amar, Brooks, Milner and Sentell.
The winners of round three, Amar and Sentell, represented Darlington at the GISA regional competition at Walker School Thursday, Feb. 9. Amar placed in the top 12 and will move on to the next round of competition Feb. 23 in Macon, Ga.
