Middle School girls basketball gains court

The Middle School girls basketball team is rebounding from their earlier losses and coming back strong to finish out their season. “Our record to date is three wins and four losses,” said Susan Stout, head coach. Along with assistant coach Penny Braden, Stout has worked to develop the talents and teamwork of the 12 players.
“The team has been led by great plays from eighth-graders Mary Katherine Ashmore, Brittni Dulaney, Hope Lester, and Brooke Wetherington and seventh-grader Elise Braden. We have also had good contributions from eighth-grader Bethany Blevins and sixth-grader Betsy Smith.” Team players include eighth-graders Blakeney Spong, Fran Monteith, and Rachel Peller, seventh-grader Margo Catherine Wallis and sixth-grader Sara Pate. “All the girls have worked and played hard as a team.” said Stout.
With season approaching the end, the coaches are optimistic. “We have five more games and out of those five teams, we have beaten three of them before and only lost one game by two points.” said Stout. “We expect to end the season with a solid finish.”
