Middle School cross country runs off the competition

The Darlington Middle School cross country team finished out its season on Oct. 10 at the Darlington Invitational competition. Both the boys and girls teams finished seventh in a field of nine teams. Eighth-grader Fatema Bandukwala finished 14th out of 129 runners to lead the girls team, while seventh-grader Brandon Waid finished 12th out of 143 runners to lead the boys’ team.
The girls’ team overall record this season was 8-15, while the boys compiled a record of 7-16. Head Coach Doug Moon was pleased with the team's performance this year. "While we would have liked to have a better record, I am pleased with each individual's improvements,” Moon said. “Each runner’s times improved dramatically as the season progressed, and many of the younger runners learned that they can compete well at this level.”
