Middle School chorus displays progressing talent in spring concert

The Middle School Chorus presented a variety of musical favorites at a spring concert Tuesday, April 26.
Selections included “Tambourica,” “The Journey,” “Blue Skies,” “Jubilate Deo,” “Cantate Domino” and “My Girl,” which was performed by the Boys Chorus. Brody Anderson and Nastassia Bryant lead the prelude, while Maggie Sparks, Bonnie Grace Tillman, Christopher Griffin and Owen Greeson were featured soloists in “Blue Skies.” Dan Bishop, chairman of the fine arts department, acted as accompanist for the performance.
“The Middle School Chorus did very well on their concert. All students contribute to the group so well,” said Kim Tunnell, Middle School chorus instructor. “I told the students several times that it was amazing to compare the sound of the group at the beginning of the year to the sound most recently.”
The performance came after the chorus received a superior rating with their first appearance at the All-Star Music Festival in Orlando, Florida on April 1. According to Tillman, the students shined in their out-of-state performance.
“I was very pleased and most impressed with our success for the year,” said Tillman.
