Middle School boys basketball takes shot at league championship

Halfway through the season, the Middle School boys basketball team, led by Joe Pieroni, head coach, and Kevin Ivester, assistant coach, is enjoying a winning season. Of the eight games they have played so far, the 12 players have won six.
Three of the games in particular were significant wins: Model, 45-25; Chattooga, 41-28; and Armuchee, 56-21. The two losses were close: Pepperell, 44-52, and Trion, 39-41.
“We have a real shot at winning the championship of the league if we keep working hard in practice,” Ivester said. “We have a great group of guys who can all play, and if we keep getting better as the season goes on, there’s no reason why we can’t win.”
