The Middle School has posted a record enrollment for the 2001-2002 school year. According to Middle School Secretary Diane Ogletree, there will be 189 students at the beginning of the school year, up from 187 last year, which was the previous record.

“We have left a few spaces open for students that come in mid-year,” Ogletree said. “One or two students usually transfer to Darlington during the course of the year. For example, we ended last year with 188 students.”

There are currently 58 sixth-graders enrolled, 61 seventh-graders enrolled, and 69 eighth-graders enrolled. The student/faculty ratio at the Middle School is 8:1.
