Middle School and Angel Express benefit community

In November, the Middle School begins its annual work with Angel Express, a nonprofit organization that strives to meet the needs of local individuals. Last year Angel Express provided 54 northwest Georgia agencies with gifts and clothing at Christmas for 2,423 of their clients.
The Middle School students’ involvement with the program includes collecting new or used toys, books, and clothing of all sizes to be distributed by Angel Express. Our Upper School has also helped in past years by sorting and organizing clothing and checking toys for parts. Volunteers in the community make many of the items. As the donations are collected, they are stored in Riverbend Mall until Dec. 20 when various agencies from Rome and Floyd County come by and select toys and clothing for needy children in the area.
All items and donations should be contributed to Angel Express by Dec. 7. “We will gladly accept donations or good quality items from all grade levels and families,” Nancy Ivester, Middle School instructor and event organizer, said. “Just drop off items at the Middle School or call me for pick up.”
