Math Team places 14th at Lassiter

The Darlington Math Team competed Saturday, Dec. 3, at Lassiter High School in Marietta, Ga. All varsity and junior varsity team members participated in a ciphering round, power round and individual test.
The top scorer for the varsity team was Du Zhang with a combined score of 115. Charlie Xu was second for Darlington with 105 points, and Vikram Singh was third with 80 points. Overall, the Darlington team placed 14th.
For junior varsity team member Vera Huang, a score of 117 placed her top among the Darlington competitors, with Jenny Chen a close second with 92 points. Sabrina Tang was third with 67 combined points.
Sponsors for the event were learning specialist Tracy Wolfer and math teacher Lynn Cox.
The next off-campus competition will be Feb. 11, 2012, in Canton.
