Lower School students take Christmas on the road

Lower Schools Superstars and The Cox Cubs took their Christmas show, “We Love Christmas,” on the road in December to area seniors. The play, written by Janice Cox and directed by Patricia Ayer, was performed on Dec. 9 to the residents of Winthrop Court and to the Senior Adult Club at Fifth Avenue Baptist Church.
The play reminds audiences of the true meaning of Christmas through the story of the Jingles (Marcus Tayloe as Mr. Jingle; Bailey Smith as Mrs. Jingle; Ally Taylor as Holly; and Nicholas Shealy as Rudi). The family of four really gets into the spirit of Christmas but somehow misses the real meaning of Christmas. During a Christmas Party they throw for many friends, the twins (Grace Welborn as Mindy and Cara Key as Cindy), friends of Holly, introduce the birth of Jesus into their holiday. Amid a flurry of gifts, menu planning, party clothes, and dreams of Christmas at Waikiki, the Jingles discover that this year the season will be even better because they have made Jesus a part of their celebration.
