The color red was omnipresent at the Lower School on Valentine’s Day as students who had contributed to the American Heart Association donned shirts instead of their traditional uniform top. A total of $1,238.25 was donated to the AHA’s effort to reduce death caused by cardiovascular disease.
“What a fun way for our students to participate in a worthwhile project,” said Lower School Assistant Principal Diane Lumpkin. “I am so proud of their caring spirit.”
Staying healthy was an important part of the week’s activities, as P.E. teacher Theresa Dulaney led students in grades pre-k through five in aerobic exercise to build strength, endurance and improve overall health.
“I want the students to know just how important it is for each of us to keep our bodies and hearts healthy,” said Dulaney.
