Lower School Reading is "DEAR"

Every Wednesday, from 1:00-1:30 p.m., parents will know, without a shadow of a doubt, what their children will be doing. They will be reading, as the school will institute a program called DEAR (Drop Everything and Read). During this thirty-minute period, everyone at the school – students, teachers, and staff – will drop what they’re doing and read. The students, for the most part, can choose what they would like to read as long as the material meets the criteria established in the guidelines of the program. Students will not be allowed to read newspapers, magazines, or comic books during this time. Lower School Librarian Ann Glass is coordinating the program and establishing the guidelines.
